1 lb. dry cottage cheese
4 egg yolks
1 tbsp melted butter
1 whole egg
1 tbsp sugarmeasures conversion [+]
Press cottage cheese through sieve. Beat well the 4 egg yolks and whole egg until light and creamy. Combine with cheese and beat well. Stir in sugar. Spoon into well-buttered baking dish. Brush top with added egg yolk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 300F for 45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool completely before serving.
