1 lb (500 g) beef
1 beet, cooked and cubed
4 potatoes, julienned
2 turnips, julienned
1 onion, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
3 tbs tomato paste
1 tbs vinegar
2 tbs sour cream

Boil the meat with water in a large pot, skim the foam as needed and salt to taste. Add the potatoes and turnips and cook until half done.
In a skillet, heat oil and cook the carrots, onion and spices with tomato paste for 15-20 minutes on medium heat, stirring regularly.
Add the beets and stewed vegetable mixture to the stock, salt to taste and cook until done.
