Pirogue s Kapoustoy (Cabbage pie) recipe

-- Dough:
10 tbsp mayonnaise
10 tbsp sour cream
10 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 lg Egg
-- Filling
1/2 cabbage head
1 lg carrot
salt to taste

At first make the filling. Shred cabbage very thin and grate a carrot. Put cabbage and carrot into a saucepan with melted butter. Add salt on your taste. Stew vegetables for about 20 minutes. At meantime make a dough. At first mix mayonnaise and sour cream with an egg, baking powder, salt and sugar. Then add flour and stir thoroughly. The dough must be dense. Pour a half of the dough into baking pan. Spread cabbage filling evenly. Cover with another half. Put into the oven for about half an hour.
